Frequent Questions

Geewhiz Wedding Films is run by myself, Allister and my wife Elaine. Our studio is based just outside Glasgow and we produce wedding video films all over Scotland and the UK. If you want quality and excellent service, with creativity and a personal service well look no further! Take a look at our most recent film highlight clips from our wedding videos and read what couples have said about the videos we produced for them. We hope that we can do the same for you soon.

How long will you be at our wedding ?

We are with you from bridal prep right though to a least the third dance documenting the full story of your day. This typically adds up to around 10 hours.

Do We need to sign a contract?

We send you a digital contract to sign as soon as the booking is made so you know what you will get and that you are happy with the booking. All this will be when you will pay a booking  fee to ensure your date.

Do we get to meet you?

Of course. We love to meet with couples, this can be done anytime from your booking date up until a few weeks before the big day, so you can get to know us and us know you as we can give you some pointers that will put you at ease for your wedding day.

How many finished images will we get?

You will get at least 650 edited  images but if we have more we will make sure you get them.  Every image is checked in post-production for contrast, lighting, sharpness and colour balance, so that your images look their very best (but still natural!). This is included as a standard part of my work and what we deliver.

who owns the copyright to the images?

The legal copyright of the images remains with ourselves, as the photographer, so technically we own the images, but you get personal reproduction release of all the images which means you can print and share them to your heart’s content. You cannot use them for commercial re-sale or give the images to a venue to use – you would need to ask our permission to do that.

How long will it take to get the images back to us?

We aim to get your full online gallery back to you within 2 weeks of the wedding date. But we also like to send a few taster images to you within 2 days of your wedding.

Do you require a meal on the day?

As photographers we are typically on our feet for at least 10 hours on a wedding day, so a hot meal would be great, we are more than happy with a bar meal and a soft drink to keep us going when you are having your meal! Typically, your reception venue will be able to arrange an additional main meal of what you’re having.

Do you take formal and groups shots?

Yes, we can. We know that they can be an important record of groups of family or friends who might not be together that often, let alone dressed up all fancy. We would suggest keeping these to no more than around ten combinations though, so that it doesn’t eat up too much time and you can get on with enjoying the day.

How many cameras do you use to shoot a wedding?

We have 4 camera bodies with us (2 each at a shoot) at all times and various lenses and SD cards.

Yes, a pre wedding shoot can be arranged. They can be a great opportunity for you to have a go in front of the camera before the day, for us to chat and get to know each other, and you get some great images that you can use on the day itself if you’d like to.
We can supply an image in a frame for your guests to sign on  the wedding day.

Are you insured?

Yes, as a professional photographers we are fully insured for both public liability and professional indemnity. On the day, we work with 4 cameras, a number of high performance lenses and memory cards, and have other backups with us. For keeping your images safe and archived, all of your images are saved on three drives, two with us at our home studio and one off-site, and in the cloud, all protected and encrypted.

Where are you based and how far will you travel?

Our studio is 10 miles outside Glasgow but we are happy to travel anywhere on the UK.
